A unique company, tasked with the responsibility of planning, executing and managing infrastructure and operations on Reem Island, one of the world’s largest single-development projects on a natural island.
Bunya was incorporated by the three master developers of Reem Island, Tamouh, Sorouh and Reem Investments, and is the resident regulatory authority of Reem Island. Bunya is the developer of regional infrastructure, utilities, transportation and community facilities on Reem Island.
The three master developers and Bunya envisaged a modern city on Reem Island with a unique amalgamation of a vibrant, chic urban metropolis and the rejuvenating tranquillity of an island getaway.
Bunya’s role is to facilitate the building of this world-class community by coordinating between all parties, public and private, involved in the creation of this city of dreams.
Its role during the construction phase is to integrate the master plans and project schedules of the developers, to coordinate with local authorities on the delivery of utilities and to facilitate the overall construction process. Bunya also coordinates with Abu Dhabi local authorities on all aspects of the infrastructure development and construction approvals, be it water, electricity, natural gas, sewage, district cooling and telecommunications, among other facilities.
As the construction process of each phase is completed, Bunya will ultimately control, operate, manage, maintain and administer these facilities.
