Roads and Infrastructure developed projects and future projects by Bunya
Bunya is responsible for the design and construction of integrated regional roads and infrastructure with an approximate length of 25 Kilometers on Reem Island which interconnects various districts within Reem Island. At Present, 15 Kilometers of Regional Roads and Infrastructure construction completed and open to public traffic. 5 Kilometers road network including infrastructure corridor design completed and in construction stage. 5 Kilometers Regional Road and Infrastructure networks are in planning stage. Recently major Bridge design project connecting Reem Island North and Khalifa Bridge / E-12 highway towards Saadiyat Island is completed and construction will commence shortly.
Landscaping & Public Realm
The Project is designed and constructed by M/s Gulf Dunes Landscaping and Agricultural Services (GDL). The Project was designed during the period November 2015 to June 2017. The construction comprised hard scape (curbs and paving), soft scape (trees, palms and plantation), tertiary irrigation network, decorative lights (only civil works) and street furniture, including concrete planter boxes, benches, litter bins and cycle track. The Project was fully completed on March 28, 2019. The establishment and nourishment of soft landscape was completed on May 31, 2020 and the project is expected to be handed over to ADM soon. Bunya is implementing the Cycle routes / tracks in the entire Reem Island as per DMT’s Cycling Master Plan. Currently design of new cycle tracks and extensions of existing cycle tracks is in progress. With this implementation, Reem Island will have circulation length of 25kms of Cycle tracks will be ready.

The element in urban context provides the characteristics of a walkable community concept. All internal roads are designed in such a way as to encourage and allow the maximum pedestrian activities. Internal roads will include dedicated or shared bicycle lanes to encourage residents to travel by riding bicycles
Reem Island will have the finest private marinas as leisure facilities providing iconic views of the Abu Dhabi. They give easy access to the waterways. The canal ways throughout provides smooth boating activities in calm water and passive recreation .
